I offer sound healing experiences using intention and frequencies to alchemize incoherence in the body’s energetic field, co-creating with you to open the receptive channels for healing on a cellular level.

Supported by gongs, crystal singing bowls, Himalayan singing bowls, drums, chimes and a variety of other instruments, this is a journey into a deep meditative state, where insight and healing occurs. You will leave feeling cleared, restored and tuned into a higher frequency.

a deep dive on sound healing

Each celestial body, in fact each and every atom, produces a particular sound on account of its movement, its rhythm or vibration. All these sounds and vibrations form a universal harmony in which each element, while having its own function and character, contributes to the whole.

— Pythagoras (569-475 BC)

Sound Healing is the educated and conscious use of sound - through various techniques - to promote wellness in the human system. It has been used for centuries by ancient and indigenous civilizations all over the world as a form of medicine because sound has the ability to heal us every level of our being - bringing into harmony the physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual energies that impact the way we flow through life. Below are some of the many benefits of intentionally using sound as a healing technique.

On a physical level:

  • Overall detoxification

  • Stronger immunity

  • Improved digestion

  • Better sleep quality

  • Relief of pain and PMS symptoms

  • Reduced muscle tension

  • Improved blood circulation

  • Decreased heart rate and blood pressure

  • Balancing of hormones

  • More coherent heart rhythm

  • Increased radiance, energy, vitality

  • Shown to break down and dissolve unhealthy cells in medical settings

On a mental level:

  • Entrainment into slower brainwave patterns of deep relaxation, down-shifting active beta state (normal waking consciousness) to alpha (relaxed consciousness), and even theta (meditative state) and delta (sleep)

  • Reduced stress and anxiety

  • Transformation of subconscious negative beliefs and self doubts which limit our ability to manifest

  • Synchronization of the left and right sides of the brain

  • Enhanced mental clarity, memory, and creativity

  • Improved mood and positive thinking

  • Researched improvements in treating ADD, ADHD, post traumatic stress, learning disabilities, dementia, Parkinson’s Disease

On an emotional level:

  • Movement and release of stuck emotions which manifest into dis-ease

  • Bringing to the surface and letting go the energy of past trauma stored in the body

  • Dissolution of negativity and lower vibrational emotions

  • Increased contentment, hopefulness, optimism, positive expectation

  • Increased feelings of happiness, passion, joy, appreciation, empowerment and love

  • Relief of grief and depression

  • Heart opening

On a spiritual level:

  • Balancing chakra energy centers

  • Cleansing discordance in the auric field, which carries patterns of energy from life experience and past incarnations

  • Increased intuition and inner awareness

  • Balancing yin/yang, masculine/feminine

  • Recognition of ego versus the sound of the soul

  • Connection with higher states of consciousness and the cosmos

  • Feelings of spiritual well-being and a more purified, consistent, “higher” vibration

  • Unity and oneness with humanity, the planet, and the universe

  • Awakening and attunement to pure love energy

HOW IT WORKS

Sound is vibration; molecular compressions with a frequency that can be measured as they move through the air, water and solids. Frequency is the number of vibrations per second, measured in Hertz (1 Hz = 1 vibration per second). Essentially, we sense sound because when the vibrations reach our ears, they are translated into electric signals which our auditory nerve cells carry to the brain, translating it into sound. But we don’t just experience sound through the ears, we also feel the sensation on the skin’s mechanoreceptors and in the body. The frequency of sound travels and the body picks it up, transmitting it to the brain, which disseminates it through every internal system - affecting our circulation, our hormones, and our immunity, to name a few. As the patterns of energy in our physical bodies and auric biofield interpret these frequencies, they adjust their own in resonance with the harmonic vibrations.

Physics explains how sound affects matter in detail. Everything has a resonant frequency, one which it most naturally vibrates at. This applies to our physicality as well - each of us has a root or Soul frequency vibration. This frequency is most apparent when you are centered, grounded and in tune with love. It naturally emanates from you when you are in a state of gratitude, peaceful presence and awareness of the now.

When we play a sound that entrains with our resonate frequency, it actually feeds energy into the object. This could be a cell, a specific organ, or the entire body. According to the Law of Resonance, a strong vibration causes a weaker vibration to vibrate at the same frequency as the stronger vibration. So when we use vibration to trigger a natural resonance in a part of us that is unbalanced or out of harmony, it’s like it gets an energetic massage – loosening it up, organizing the molecular information and increasing flow. This can be extremely effective for harmonizing organs, relaxing muscles, and even transforming cells into a healthy structure.

Considering our bodies are made up of nearly 80% water, frequencies affect our form in a profound way. From a broader perspective, imagine placing a liquid next to a speaker. We see visually how the vibrations move the water. The study of Cymatics has provided fascinating insight into the unique responsiveness and intelligence of water. However on a micro scale, those vibrations are restructuring the water molecules into organized geometric shapes according to the frequency. As they move through our body, these beautiful crystalline forms are cleansing, alchemizing and essentially tuning up our system; shifting energy and moving stagnancy and blockages that impact our health.

On the other end of the spectrum, there are many frequencies we encounter on the daily that distract us from our own resonant frequency, causing our stress levels to elevate, creating imbalances in our nervous system, lowering our immunity and even affecting our hearing in extreme cases. Our harmonious vibrational state is knocked out of balance by chaotic external noise such as car horns honking, motorcycles rumbling, the clanging of construction, the distractions of televisions and electronics, and angry, disconnected people, as well as by the damaging vibrational frequencies WITHIN us: negative thoughts, fear, judgement, bottled up emotion and physical pains. Whether they are internal or external, it is important to be cognizant of the sounds we take in and how they make us feel.

By utilizing the energy of frequency, tones, rhythm and intention, sound healing practitioners aim to create a consistent frequency that will allow the system to balance and restore, bringing us into our most peaceful, consistent frequency of well being.

FREQUENCY + INTENTION = HEALING

Several studies have shown that an integral component for healing is intention. In a sound session, when both the practitioner and the receiver focus their consciousness on a positive outcome, we find that their intention becomes embedded into the music and transmitted through the vibrations of the tones. This has a measurable impact in the effectiveness in healing.

An intention may be very specific, such as healing a specific physical ailment, calling in a particular quality of feeling or emotion into life, or addressing the wellbeing of the planet or humanity on a global level. Or it may center around letting go of something that doesn’t serve us. In essence, we call out the intent to plant a seed or remove a weed. When we hold it in our awareness and begin to come into resonance with high vibrational sound frequencies, transformations happen on every level, because everything is connected.

Ultimately a sound meditation is a cleansing process for the subconscious mind. In a soundbath, this process begins by carrying us into a relaxed meditative state that induces the parasympathetic nervous system. Once we separate from underlying fear and anxiety behind our egoic self, we drop into the calm and peace of our inner being. This may on the surface just feel like a relaxing experience, but it is here where our energetic resistance subsides and we enter into a more receptive state where the body can do its healing work.
